OPPO F1s: Summer Destination

Summer is fast approaching. The days were gone when everyone was feeling cold due to the cold winds of Amihan. Nowadays, the sun always gives us the heat that can quickly dry up our clothes. This can imply that summer is just around the corner. This is my favorite season not just for the fact that my daughter and I no longer have to wake up early for school but also to spend some family bonding.

This was taken inside the compound of Grand Palazzo at Cioccolo. The place was great and truly perfect for wedding receptions, debut or other huge gathering. The food was enticing. The other family by the way is the family of my Aunt.

The photo below was taken during our last summer vacation. We had one spent in Fontana, Clark. It was a great one because we get to spend a day swimming at the hot spring park.

Hubby and daughter

We got in early to spend more hours at the pool. We decided to spend some time here so we can still go shopping later the afternoon. It only took us less than 2h to reach Clark but we already checked in the hotel a day before we went swimming.

Although the water at the pool is a bit hotter than the usual, we still enjoyed it. It is like getting water massage while we relax.

For this summer, we are planning to go to Subic or Baguio and I must agree that Oppo F1s should be part of our next adventure. With the help of Oppo F1s, I can take better looking pictures and selfies. I can surely post more beautiful and clearer images of the view with its whooping 16MP front camera. Selfie Panorama feature can also ensure that everyone will not be left behind with our groupfie.

Oppo F1s is also perfect for on the mommy like me with its 3GB Ram, I can ensure to surf faster than ever before. This can be very useful for getting accurate directions and switches from one app to another.

The dual sim capability is also useful when traveling. This matters a lot if in case one of the network provider does not have good signal in some locations, I have a back up sim for reliable connectivity.

Where is your next planned vacation? Share your thoughts below.

MoskiShield: Is it worth the hype?

We are from the Philippines. Our country is quite rich with culture, beaches, food and natural resources. One more thing that we are rich in would be mosquitoes. In fact, there was even a time when dengue outbreaks were declared in some municipalities. It is a sad but an actual fact.

Dengue is caused by a mosquito that carries the virus. Once an infected mosquito bite you and your immune system is not good enough, high chances are you are at risk to develop this deadly condition. The dengue carrying mosquitoes usually attack during mid afternoon. However, as the world evolves, it can attack its victim anytime.

Kids are usually infected with the disease. Hence, there are so many big brands in the industry that produce repellent lotion, sprays, colognes, and others. What’s more? There are even bracelets and patches that were invented. One of such is MoskiShield.

This repellent patch states on its package that it is 100% natural free from deet. Thus, it is such a hit for most consumers. It is self adhesive patch and anyone can use it easily. I am one of those who was lured to try it. Since I have a 7 year old daughter, I should ensure she is always safe from this kind of diseases.

It can be purchased per box with 24 patches. The photo above contains 6 because the 24 patches is divided into 4 zip locks. One box costs around P150. As you can see, the designs are pretty cute and any child would want one on their clothing. FYI, the patches should not stick on the skin. It needs to be on the clothes.

When you open  the zip lock, you can smell a strong smell of I cannot explain what that is. But the strong smell is its way to repel mosquitoes. It states on the package that the user can be protected up to 24 hours. However, when we once used it, my daughter still complains of mosquito bites. Too bad.

If you will ask me, if this is worth to try, I may not recommend it. Although it is very handy and easy to use without any messy application required, I might not buy another one again.

Have you also tried it? Share your thoughts!

Wifey and Mommy

I am a wife to my long time partner for 14 years. We started out as text mates back in 2001. We were both in 4th year HS back then. We became official also through text (too cheap, i know but it lasted, so it does not really matter ☺) on 01/02/01 Jan 2, 2003. We had our very first date not the next day but on Jan 19, 2003. And the rest was history.

When we found out that I was pregnant Dec of 2008, we got married on March 8, 2009. Now, I already have a 7 year old daughter. She is already in second grade. We are also planning to have another child this year considering that we are already getting older.

The realization of having another child may come too late because I really do not want another one. It is hard too hard to be pregnant, go on labor and raise a kid. My biggest challenge these days with a grade schooler is the process of teaching her. This would be the time in our life when I also need to be a tutor. It is really hard because my child is a late bloomer. She does not quickly grasp her lessons because she is not interested with it. I know she has her own intelligence because she easily learns a new sport. If only she will give her interest and focus on her lessons at school, I know she can also make it with flying colors. Too bad, she does not.

Anyway, so we are already looking to have another child this year. We already bought new feeding bottles. We just want to ensure that everything will goo smoothly as my husband just recently finished his anti-rabies vaccines. He has worries that the vaccine may have an effect towards conception.

That’s my family ♥♥♥

What I do

This is not the first that that I attempted to maintain a blog. I even purchased an actual website before, not just once but two times. These were attempts to uplift my status of being a WAHM (Work at home Mom)/freelance writer/virtual assistant.

Since I stopped working in an actual office when I got pregnant way back in Dec 2008, I started to look for alternative ways to earn money. My husband is a good provider but it is still better to have my own earnings.

I was exposed to various online money making systems like PPC or pay per click which I did to earn $2 in one month. Gosh! I did that when I was still pregnant. There are also other money making systems like paid surveys, online selling and more.

Then one time, I learned about KGB. This is a legitimate work from home job based here in the Philippines. I worked as a Special Text Agent. The scope of work is pretty simple and basic as all I need to do is to log in to their database and wait for text messages to come in and reply. The thing is, if you want to earn more, you need to wake up early like 3 am. The salary is just right for a less than 40h job without leaving the house. Back then (2009), I earned about 7K each month less all the other charges.

Being with KGB worked well for me for a couple of months. Then, one time, I got introduced to try Odesk, now Upwork. It is a freelance marketplace for freelancers and business owners looking for workers. I started a job that pays $1 per hour. So, for someone who gets paid for 7k/month, about P43-P45/hour sounds better. Since March 2010 until today, I am connected with Upwork.

The process is pretty straightforward. All you need to do is to apply/bid for a project and prove yourself to the employee. It is hard to find an employer when you are only starting out to establish your profile but with hard work and persistence, you can win your first job.
